CECE

KDAY Morning Show

Born in Compton and raised all over South LA, Cece Valencia has always loved West Coast culture and hip hop.  She grew up on stations like 93.5 KDAY, but never actually considered a career in radio until the program director at Wild 96.1 called her after seeing her on LA TV.  With a natural knack for hosting, she ended up falling in love with the business.

ROMEO

KDAY Morning Show

In addition to being the co-host of the KDAY Morning Show, Romeo is a father and actively involved in the community. As a mentor and volunteer, Romeo works with teen boys who may not have a male role model or father in their lives in the MIT “Men in Training” program at the Watts Boys and Girls Club.

PJ BUTTA

MON-SAT 2P-7P

Southern California native PJ Butta has been working in Los Angeles radio for 25 years. He got his first radio gig by talking his way into an on-air position at KKBT “The Beat,” and became the first Filipino-American on Los Angeles radio.

PJ landed another first as the first DJ to break the news of Tupac Shakur’s death in 1996.  He has helped the careers of artists like Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, and The Fugees with his Butta Bootleg new music releases. PJ has been involved with various community organizations like Challenger’s Boys & Girls Club, American Red Cross, Casey Family Programs and BookPals. He’s gone beyond radio, landing a guest star role as himself on the sitcom Moesha and other roles on Sister Sister, The Parkers, and Showtime’s Soul Food. PJ is also featured on the internationally syndicated World Chart Show. When he’s not on the radio, he’s teaching students about the radio business at Mt. San Antonio College.
