Meruelo Media partners with Toad Hop Entertainment and the Toad Hop Network podcast production house to launch a talk radio outlet on KLOS-HD2. Dubbed “KLOS 2,” the digital channel will be led by Frank Kramer, co-host of the “Heidi & Frank Show” on classic rock KLOS (95.5) Los Angeles.

“I’m excited to bring all-talk radio back to Southern California,” Kramer said in a release. “The listeners have been hungry for it since KLSX ended in 2009, and now that over half of the cars on the road have HD radios, it’s perfect timing.” (Editor’s note: Over 50% of the over 17 million new vehicles sold in America last year came with HD Radio as standard equipment but total vehicle penetration has not reached 50%).

With its launch, “KLOS 2” will air a 24-hour loop of the “Heidi & Frank Show,” which Kramer says is the first phase of the new talk outlet. “In the coming months, my team and I will be adding original programming, special features and even more surprises,” he explained. “KLOS 2 will ultimately become a full-fledged talk radio station, courting new advertisers and personalities.”
